Summary: In a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Arizona and Blitz Home Builders, volunteers will build 10 permanently affordable starter homes in Flagstaff’s Timber Sky community in just 10 days. Priced at $100K with a $1K down payment, the homes aim to help low-income families build equity and boost sustainable, integrated community housing.

These homes—part of a 40-home program—are 400 sq ft, 0% interest, and include wrap‑around services. Timber Sky plans 281 affordable units within the development to address Flagstaff’s steep home prices.

2025 Blitz Build Announcement – Flagstaff, Arizona

8/12/2024

Blitz Home Builders,

We would like to announce that the 2025 Blitz Build will be in Flagstaff, Arizona.  We think in June, but the dates have not been finalized yet.

Flagstaff is about a 2-hour drive north of Phoenix.  It is in the pine trees at an elevation of about 7000 feet.  It’s a beautiful city and, for Phoenicians, is a popular place to escape the summer heat.

We will be building starter homes.  They are about 600 square feet, with a great room, kitchen, and bathroom on the main level, and a loft for sleeping above.  The development we will be building in is planned to have 40 of these homes when completed.

Registration should be opening in December, 2024.

As soon as the build dates have been firmed up, we’ll let you know.

Hope to see you in Flag (as the locals call it),

BHB Planning Committee
