Homeowner Families and Sponsors

Nicole Crain is a single mother who works full-time at a construction company as a carpenter to support herself and her six children. They currently live in a small, overcrowded apartment with three children to a bedroom and are all looking forward to having a home of their own with enough space for everyone. After working in construction for so many years, Nicole is especially excited to help build her own home. Home-ownership to Nicole means she will have, "something to leave my children besides photos and bills." For the children, Natasha, Nakyin, Antoinette, Ayzha, Nathaniel, and Nicole, it means having a home where they are proud and excited to invite their friends.

Nitzia Menjivar is a single mother of two daughters Roxana, 14 and Anayanci, 9. Nitzia works full-time at a bank as a proof operator and is very excited to finally become a homeowner. Nitzia and her two daughters currently live with her parents and are looking forward to having their own place. To Nitzia, homeownership means "that I will be able to provide a foundation that enables my daughters to have stability and a secure future". Nitzia is thankful to become a homeowner through Habitat because with a Habitat mortgage she can own a home and still have something left over to save for her daughters’ college education.

Miladys Perez and Marcos Trapero are very excited to soon be Habitat homeowners! Mildays, a refugee from Cuba, currently works as a bilingual receptionist. Marcos stays home to take care of their two young sons, Jonathan and Marcos. The Perez family currently lives in subsidized housing that, while adequate, does not provide them with a sense of stability and long term security. They are looking forward to being homeowners and having a place to call their own.
